Are you a HCDSB Staff?
If you are a HCDSB staff who has identified a student in need of financial support to purchase basic necessities or to participate fully in their education through trips, teams, technology, or other learning materials, please apply for funding on their behalf.
- HCDSB staff identifies a student / family in need
- Student Guardian Program funding supports:
- Basic necessities while at school (i.e. food and clothing)
- School Experience (i.e. school trips, sports teams, OYAP)
- Our intent is to help supplement funding already being offered by the school. Should this not be possible, please include details in the Application Form.
- Student Guardian Program funding supports:
- School completes the Online Application
- Principal approves the submission of the Application if completed by another HCDSB staff member
- We accept applications of up to a maximum $300 per family.
- Receipt of applications will be confirmed via email.
- Applications will be reviewed by HCCF. Our goal is to have a response back to the school within one week.
- Applications for activities that have already happened are not eligible.
- Applicants will receive notification of either approval of request, or notice that the request was not approved, via email.
- If approved, a financial arrangements will be made. Payments will be made to the school via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) or digital gift card. We do not issue funds to individuals.
- We ask that the family is made aware of the funding provided by HCCF and donors to HCCF, and request a testimonial through a brief anonymous note.
- Schools are welcome to apply for funding for more than one student and for more than one situation.

Are you a HCDSB student / family, or inquiring on behalf of a HCDSB student / family?
If you need some help with basic necessities or school fees, please contact your school to ask about potential assistance (i.e. Principal, Vice-Principal, Teacher, Social Worker, Child & Youth Counsellor, Guidance Counsellor). They may be able to help through the school, or they could help with applying to HCCF on your behalf.
